This a critical position within the financial operations team, responsible for overseeing the end-to-end settlement process of card transactions. This role ensures the accurate and timely reconciliation and settlement of card payments, playing a vital part in maintaining the financial integrity and efficiency of the organization.
What you’ll be doing
- Responsible for all the settlements and reconciliation completed daily, weekly and monthly.
- Review the transaction details from all issuing & acquiring networks on daily basis and reconcile every transaction that has been settled.
- Managing and resolving card payment-related disputes.
- Oversee the reconciliation process, ensuring the accurate and timely resolution of discrepancies or conflicts arising from card payment transactions.
- Leads a team that investigates payment disputes, collaborates with financial institutions, payment processors and customers to identify the root causes and reach mutually beneficial resolutions.
- Monitor payment trends, analyse transaction data, and implement measures to minimize payment errors and fraud.
- Stay updated on relevant payment regulations and industry standards, ensuring compliance and driving continuous improvement in the payment process.
- Resolve disputes and maintain positive relationships with customers and payment partners.
- Liaise closely with Visa / MasterCard and other member banks on all cardholder disputes / fraudulent transactions / unauthorized interchange debit related issues and ensure that the transactions losses are minimized.
- Review and reconciliation of Visa / MasterCard International fees and ensure that all fees, charges and other incomes earned on interchange transactions are properly debited / credited by Visa / MasterCard International.
- Maximize profitability by ensuring that the operations are carried out with the maximum efficiency, security and controls.
- Provide support in tasks as assigned by Line Manager/Supervisor or Management.
Must have’s
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or a related field. A master's degree or relevant certifications
- Extensive experience in financial operations with a focus on settlements and transaction reconciliation.
- Proven track record in a senior role within financial operations.
