We are looking for a front end engineer with an eye for design. We are looking for someone skilled in product design and front end web technologies. You will have to sketch, mock and optimize key features and concepts. At Safepay, our web engineers work on three different products: the consumer-facing web product our users love, the merchant-facing dashboard that our clients use to manage their payments and the operational backbone that powers this and our other Safepay products.
Your work will help design and engineering work together seamlessly. You will contribute to reiterating products based on customer feedback. As a member of the web operations team, you’ll build core frontend infrastructure and tools to build products that users will love.
Your day-to-day will involve:
- Architecting new features and reusable UI paradigms using ReactJS
- Creating a unified component library for use across all products
- Implementing functional UI elements from design mocks, with an eye toward performance and accessibility
- Knowing when to create abstractions vs. one-off features
- Ensuring that components are functional, elegant, performant, and mobile-friendly
- Collaborating with stakeholders and market specialists to rapidly iterate on the product
- Designing frameworks and tools that empower other developers
- Producing mocks (or even rough wireframes if the design system is good enough to be able to "fill in the gaps") pretty quickly and then iterate from there - although we have a design resource in-house
Must Haves
- At least 3 years of React experience
- Experience with TypeScript in React
- A deep understanding of the architecture of modern client-side React applications
- Prior experience working with component libraries or design teams in user-facing applications
- A desire to keep up with modern best practices in web development
- Familiarity with React Hooks
- Leading the product from inception to launch, and own large parts of the product’s execution
- Building and testing products to support Safepay’s payment operations
